Theory Design has completed the installation of its interior design at a totally remodeled 6,000 square-foot, two story grand estate residence at Quail West. Theory Design reimagined the spaces throughout the home and created an on-trend open-concept living environment. The project also entailed extensive exterior enhancements, including a new driveway, new landscaping, new landscaping lighting, a new roof, and a new exterior pool deck, including new waterline tile in the pool, installation of new pool equipment, and a re-designed outdoor kitchen area.
Inside, Theory Design created a new feature wall in the great room to replace what was originally an outdated precast concrete fireplace that extended to the ceiling. The new fireplace is outlined in black stone and features new, on-trend trim cladding that soars all the way to the ceiling. A new sound system is now featured on the home’s first floor, including a subwoofer that is hidden in the ceiling of the adjoining great room and kitchen. In the kitchen, new countertops, new cabinetry, a wet bar, and two wine refrigerators have transformed the space into an appealing gathering place while entertaining.
The entire residence was repainted, including the interior doors that were enhanced with new door hardware. New wood flooring, trim details, new lighting fixtures and switches, and new plumbing fixtures were installed throughout the home. The study, including an existing custom bookcase, was repainted. All new windows and French doors are found throughout the home. A new railing was installed on the staircase leading to the second floor. All six of the home’s bedrooms were repainted and new flooring was installed. Three of the home’s eight bathrooms were completely renovated. Other enhancements include the installation of new epoxy paint flake flooring in the garage, new garage doors, and a new whole house generator.
In addition to the Quail West residence, Theory Design’s Vice President of Design Ruta Menaghlazi and Interior Designer Cynde Thompson are putting the finishing touches on a newly remodeled interior for a beachfront condominium in Naples. The condominium is located at Sea Point at Seagate Beach. The project involved a full remodel that included completely gutting the walls in the living areas down to the steel and tearing out the ceilings. The master bedroom and the master bath that were recently renovated remained intact. Contractor Mike Vitte Construction redesigned the entire floor plan.
The furnishings, including the client’s treasured classic pieces, play against a neutral color pallet, new five-inch wide legno wood flooring in a medium walnut finish, cream toned kitchen cabinetry, and darker toned solid surface kitchen countertops. Two islands have been created in the kitchen. Wood beams are being added to the tray ceilings.
A new frosted glass double door entry opens to a foyer with a 24 by 24-inch shell stone inlay surrounded by the new wood flooring. Picture frame molding has been utilized to add details to the walls. Sliding door fronts open to the closet’s dark walnut interior and flood the space with the light shining through the frosted glass entry doors. Stacked molding has been added to a long hallway to define the look and add detail to the ceiling that includes new recessed LED lighting. The new flooring in the hallway is set in a herringbone pattern. The hallway and laundry room features sleek modern barn doors. The powder bath features a wall mounted sink with a backsplash approximately 12-inches tall and a faucet that comes out of the wall. The sink is flanked by sconces.
Ruta and Cynde are also wrapping up the remodeling of a condominium in the Horizon high-rise within Bonita Bay. Furnishings owned by the client are incorporated in the design, along with a new credenza, new counter stools in the kitchen, and new custom leather finished stools. Mike Vitte Construction designed a custom television system that is incorporated in the feature liquor wall. The television is lowered from the ceiling and then raised back up for storage when the viewing session is over. The bedrooms have been refreshed with new carpeting and paint. The design in the study has been customized around the husband’s multiple liquor collections. The study also features a curved wall, beam ceiling details, new flooring, a newly created custom desk, and a custom closet.
New 10-inch wide white oak flooring has been installed in the kitchen and family room along with beam ceiling details that add a sense of glamour to the look. A new color pallet in the living areas will feature smiley beige colors that required a custom formula.
Ruta and Cynde Thompson recently completed a new interior design for a remodeled condominium in a high-rise within Bay Colony at Pelican Bay. The residence was built in 1996. The original designer created a Tuscan style interior with heavy, ornate furnishings, a color palette that included golds, greens, and russet reds, silks and tapestry fabrics, bullion-fringed pillows, and swag silk valances, draperies, and sheers. Many areas of the home featured heavily textured wallcoverings with traditional prints that included dark backgrounds and gold accents. Dramatic lighting fixtures, ornate chandeliers and sconces with gold and bronze finishes, and accessories such as heavy iron and onyx stone bowls in the dining room contributed to the visual weight of the design.
The objective of the remodeling project was to update and lighten the entire residence in two phases. The first phase was completed in 2019 and included remodeling the entire master bathroom, the baths in the two guest bedrooms, the powder bath, installing new wood flooring in the bedrooms, replacing the lighting with more modern fixtures, lightening the look of the home with a refreshed color palette and new wall coverings and window treatments, replacing the original furnishings, and changing the flooring on the outdoor balcony areas. Completed this past October, phase two included remodeling the entire kitchen and breakfast area and installing new wood flooring in the main living area and hallway to match the new flooring in the bedrooms.
