Theory Design is debuting the interior design for Theory Design’s and Seagate Development Group’s two-story corporate headquarters at 9921 Interstate Commerce Drive. Located just off Alico Road and seconds from I-75 in Fort Myers, the 13,000-square-foot facility is a direct result of an exterior and interior concept by Theory Design, Seagate and Joe McHarris at McHarris Planning & Design in Bonita Springs. Currently, it is the home base for over 60 employees and personnel whose space reflects both the present and future work of both companies.
A timeless sense of strength and modern influence is detected the second you enter the parking lot. This reflects the core values within the building and is apparent in the exterior’s modern lines, expansive windows, massive black steel brackets and highly distinguishable canopies. The exterior color palette ranges from Morning Fog to Serious Gray and Heron Plume.
The forward-thinking approach to the headquarters is carried into and throughout the streamlined, fully functional interior spaces as well as complemented by smart technology like smartboards and Surface Pro laptops. The hotel-like reception area includes reverse soffit ceilings, LED cove lighting, a stainless-steel elevator, concrete-like tile flooring, a custom marble and ebony wood reception desk, and sleek black baseboards. Minimalist pendant lighting hangs over the desk and in front of floor-to-ceiling walnut-finish panels as well as hidden storage cabinetry. Low-back chairs were recently added to the lobby to reflect a comfortable atmosphere. The first floor continues with three conference rooms that offer linen-like wall covering and walnut-wood-paneled walls, private offices and an oversized training center. They all feature floor-to-ceiling glass partition walls and doors that prompt natural lighting, modern-style carpet tile in Dark Steel, wide windows with solar screen shades, and walnut-finish cabinetry and panels that reflect the reception space. Collaboration areas range from a generously sized lounge area to a kitchen, a café-inspired coffee bar and a breakroom, complete with Bosch appliances, flatscreen televisions, Pompeii quartz countertops and other high-end finishes. Restrooms throughout the building provide Light Grey matte-finished tile, Pompeii quartz countertops, Kohler plumbing and wall coverings.
The second floor is reserved for executive offices and a full-service design studio with 11-foot ceilings, project tables, a complete library of samples and an incomparable view of a never-ending lake. Finishes mimic the other collaborative areas. Much like the first level, it features floor-to-ceiling windows and offices surrounded by glass partition walls and plenty of natural light as well as a kitchen, a café-inspired coffee bar and a breakroom with the same upgrades and finishes as downstairs. Details exclusive to the upper level include a living-room-type lounge off the elevator, complete with wall covering. An all-encompassing Board Room presents a large custom walnut conference table, reverse-soffit ceilings with a walnut insert, a wine bar with a full-size Sub-Zero wine refrigerator, ebony cabinetry by Fusion, Pompeii quartz countertops, and a Kohler sink and faucet. The Board Room opens to a balcony with modern bar tables and stools that overlook the tranquil lake. Designer and Seagate partner conference rooms display flatscreen TVs for presentations and meetings. Private offices for partners and managers are lined with elegant and decorative wallpaper and reflect each executive’s unique style via dark furniture, light collectibles and study-style desks.
This creative step into an office of the future was taken ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the open-concept design allows all team members to work in a safe, socially distant environment, while encouraging them to collaborate and engage as a way of executing forward-thinking ideas. The design was inspired by the establishment of Theory Design in 2019, giving Theory Design and Seagate the invaluable ability to come together on projects and accommodate their rapid growth.
In addition to creating the interior for its and Seagate’s corporate office, Theory Design is completing the interior for the furnished Revana, Monterey II and Sonoma model homes in the Isola Bella neighborhood at Talis Park (Naples) as well as the furnished Bal Harbour, Beacon, Sunny Isles and Cape Romano models at Hill Tide Estates (Boca Grande). The Revana and Monterey II models will be complete in Spring 2022, while the Sonoma model will be complete in Summer 2022. The Bal Harbour model will be complete this autumn, while the Beacon and Cape Romano models will be complete in 2022.
The team recently completed the furnished Sonoma and Monterey models in Isola Bella at Talis Park as well as the furnished Genova, Santorini and Monaco models at Esplanade Lake Club (Fort Myers). This comes shortly after the completion of the interior for a $5-million-plus grand estate model at Quail West (Naples). Theory Design’s current projects span four customer homes at Talis Park and two customer homes at Esplanade Lake Club as well as one customer home in Fort Myers. Renovations range from Sanibel to Old Naples.
Theory Design, a Seagate Development Group company, is dedicated to excellence in interior design via new construction and renovations for residential and commercial properties. The result of a collaboration with Seagate, Theory Design lends a unique design approach to fast-growing projects. With a concept-to-completion portfolio, the licensed and highly experienced team is inspired by nature and organic elements as well as modern but timeless, holistic design. Their goal is to engage with clients and infuse their character and personality into award-winning interiors that surpass client expectations. The team’s award-winning portfolio includes the Sonoma model in Talis Park’s Isola Bella community and the Streamsong model at Quail West. Theory Design’s Oak Hill model at Quail West was featured as Home & Design magazine’s February 2021 Signature home, in partnership with Hickory Chair Furniture. It encompasses modern interiors that create a picture-perfect indoor-outdoor concept.
Aside from Theory Design’s and Seagate’s corporate headquarters, the team also designed a 900-square-foot Theory-Seagate office at 411 Park Ave. on Boca Grande, just minutes from Hill Tide Estates and in the heart of the island’s historic district. It includes a showroom and office space. For more information, visit TheoryDesign.com.
