The Oregon House From “The Goonies” Is On The Market For $1.65 Million

The home is a treasure in itself — no treasure hunts needed!

Located in Astoria, Oregon, the property was featured in the 1985 classic, “The Goonies,” wherein a group of pre-teens set out to find hidden treasure so they can save the aforementioned Victorian home from demolition. 

“Literally the home you have all been waiting for!” said Jordan Miller of John L. Scott Real Estate. “Built in 1896, this home comes fully loaded with history, nostalgia and iconic level of fame.”

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom house includes wood floors, a living room with plenty of natural light, a fully-equipped kitchen with granite countertops, an open-concept dining room, a claw-foot tub, a laundry room, a home office, skylights, and even a wraparound porch with sweeping views of the Pacific Northwest coastline.

As for the attic? While it might not contain antiques and ancient artifacts like in the film, it does boast an additional bedroom that can be accessed via a secret ladder.

“After you walk through the front door of this amazing home, you realize the level craftsmanship and character put into this property,” added Miller. 

Take note that thousands of people visit the house every year. In 2015, there was an estimated 12,000 to 15,000 visitors as part of The Goondocks, an annual celebration of the film. That same year, owner Sandi Preston had to ask the city in keeping aggressive fans at bay.
