SDI Architecture Grows To Keep Pace With Increased Need For Home Office Build Outs Due To COVID

Firms Adds New Hires And Expands Client Portfolio

SDI Architecture, a Boston-based international architectural and interior design firm that develops distinct, custom designs, centered upon the user’s experience, announced today the expansion of their team in all offices in response to the growing demand in the residential sector as Work From Home continues to become a more permanent fixture for so many. While commercial design remains their primary focus, SDI Architecture is increasing the size and scope of services as more requests for home office additions and build outs pour in due to the pandemic.

In order to meet this increasing demand to serve residential clientele, SDI Architecture has added a number of new specialized personnel. In India, SDI has welcomed Ali Nawaz as Project Manager, Kanak Mor as Architect Intern and Chaitanya Turaga as Junior Architect. The firm has brought in Abhinav Sharma as a Partner & Principle Architect at the firm’s Hyderabad, India location. Abhinav has a Masters of Architecture from the University of Westminster in London and has worked on a wide variety of projects, including Begumpet Metro Station in Hyderabad as well as many residences. He is also a graphic designer, selling original artwork posters internationally, and continues to be a force for growth and innovation at SDI Design Hyderabad.

“While the pandemic has slowed business for everyone, we are starting to see a growing need for home office additions in residences,” said Ben Williams, owner of SDI Architecture. “We’re so lucky to be in a position to expand our teams right now, remaining strong in the commercial sector and growing rapidly in the suburbs. We love to help our clients build the space they envision, especially now when we are all spending so much time in our homes.”

In Boston, SDI has promoted Alen Carvalho to Senior Project Manager. Carvalho previously owned his own independent architecture firm in Brazil where he developed architectural projects as well as interior design for residential and commercial clients. His experience supervising teams and construction sites, his positive attitude and his drive to understand and fulfill the needs of each client have contributed to his rise in the ranks.

“Alen is very knowledgeable, he’s a great designer and a wonderful team player,” said SDI firm partner and Design Director Prasanna Lachagari. “We want to congratulate him on his recent graduation from Boston Architectural College with his Masters in the field of architecture. He is an incredible asset to our firm.”
